General Explanations
About the pointsystem
What is the ranking system?
Who is ranked in the ranking ?
After the game
Computing of ranking points
Ranking order
About the pointsystem
A good ranking needs a good and fair pointsystem to rank and classify the players.
What is the ranking system?
Based on the pointsystem, the players are sorted descending after points, players with more points are on top and players with less points are underneath.
Who is ranked in the ranking ?
All players who have at least won ONE match ! It is not that easy to defeat human players !
After the game
The winner will reports the game ( WINNER ALWAYS REPORT ! )at the related Battlefield-Page!All loosers and the admin get an email report about the Game. Everyone can delete the report wasnt correct or contact the admin, so we can check it andmaybe change the report and clear the situation. So always check the report ! Please not forgot to rate players and game.Contact us when something is wrong, that helps up to upkeep our fair ranking !
Computing of ranking points
Every result will influece the ranking, if its ladder / tourney or league game. All players (except players who take over last position)who played a game will get a new amount of points!
Example:
Player2 won 48 Points which means : 1100 in ranking + 48 from his report = in the updated ranking he will have 1148 points.
Player1 win 3.3 Points which means : 1200 in ranking + 3.3 from the game report = in the updated ranking he will have 1203.3 points.
Player3 will hold his points with 1000.
Ranking order
Only players with at least ONE win get ranked !
After the report the ranking will be sorted descending.
The Player with the most Points leading the Ranking. Players with less Points are the last in the ranking.
But the even the last one proved his talent because he won at least one game so his position is BEFORE unranked players.
POINTSYSTEM I (Insert-System)
Start-Bonus
A Player starts the ranking with 1000 points and is listed in the ranking when he has won at least ONE match. Players without at least ONE but played games will be listed but unranked !
Computing of the set points
Everyone has an amount of points in the ranking (Newbees start with 1000 Points). Players spend 10% of their Points in every Game, dependent on thekind of the Game.
Example
Player 1 has 1200 ranking points , Player 2 800 points, they both play a laddergame :
Player 1 = 1200 / 10 = 120 Points
Player 2 = 800 / 10 = 80 Points
============= together 200, both Players spent 200 points for this laddergame
How is the Result computed ?
Check the table to see how the results are computed (The values are in percent) :
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
2 Players 67 33
3 Players 50 32 18
4 Players 37 28 20 15
5 Players 30 24 20 14 12
6 Players 24 20 19 15 12 10
7 Players 21 18 16 14 12 10 9
8 Players 18 16 14 13 12 10 9 8

Lets come back to our Example:
Lets say Player2 with 800 points won against Player 2 with 1200 points.
Player 1 won 67 % from 200 points which ist a total amount of 134 points.

He won 134 Points and spent 80 !
That makes a benefit about 54 points and his new amount of Points is : 854 Points
Player1 new points : 854 Points
Player2 lost and got only 33%, so he got only 66, but inserted 120 Points.
This means a lost from 54 points.
now Player2 has 1200-54 = 1146 Points.

Player2 won (134 Points) = 200 * 0,67 = 134 - 80 = 54
Player1 lost (66 Punkte) = 200 * 0,33 = 66 - 120 = -54
Tournament Bonus(special)
In a tournaments, winners will get 50% points bonus additional to thewon/lost points. In our example Player2 than winner gets:
54 * 1,5(150%) = 81 points, that makes 27 points more than a regular game and881 points instead 854 points.
League Bonus(special)
In a League-Game (not ladder) the winner will get 100% point bonus.in our example Player2 than the winner gets:
54 * 2 (200%) = 108 Points, so he has 54 points more than a regular game and 906 points instead 854 points...
Map-Bonus(special)
When Humans play on a Huge or Extra Large Map they get an EPIC BONUS whenthey manage to finish the game.They get 10% from the set points devided through the amount of HumanPlayers.In our example the players played on an extralarge map.Points when they played on an extralarge map:200 set points * 0.1 (10%) / 2 players = 10 points more for both, which means:54 + 10 = 64 for Player2 (864) and- 54 + 10 = -44 for Player1 (1156)
Ai Difficulty(special)
Hard ais can force the players to play longer and harder .Players must react when the ai plays agressive and makes pressure.So the game-conditions are much harder. All players will get a small bonus for this harder conditions.The bonus:0.25 % from all set Points if : AI Difficulty = Hard and 0.5 % whenAI Difficulty = Impossible, multiplicated with the amout of Human Players(including AI`s) devided through the amount of Human Players.In our Example the Players get additionally Points if they played with one impossible AI:200 set Points * 0.005 (0.5%) * 3 players (2 humans + 1 AI) / 2=1.5 Points more for both that means54 + 1.5 = 55.5 for Player2 (855.5) and- 54 + 1.5 = -52.5 for Player1 (1147.5)
[Further Rules]
1)If a winner should not get more than 5 Points for his win, he gains atleast 2 Points!!!
2)A loser can never win Points, when he wins Points.
3) Activity Bonus when much do for ladder/ Inactiv Penalty when not more activ.
POINTSYSTEM II (Player-History)
Starting Conditions
A player starts the ranking with 1000 points and is listed in the ranking when he has won at least ONE match. Players without at least ONE but played games will be listed but unranked ! Players under 1200 points get doubled bonus
Start bonus
Players under 1200 points get doubled bonus, so can new player faster climb at start
Computing of the history value
Only experienced Ladder-players have a game History.
Top ladder gamers have good results in their history, unlucky or newbies dont. After a complexformula ladder players get their "History Value".
Only wins are regarded in History, but the rankings statistcs(wins/losts) will too influence the value. More wins in ladder ranking means better value.In case that a ladder player only beated newbies or that he just joined the ladder he get a History Value of 0. In this case a player can only win the5 points for each worser player (subtract relationfactor and settings).
Players in game will not influence the history-value (best example friends who often plays, this players will not count in history)

Formulare:First computed:
Win Points from all beaten Oppoenents (points-1000)
Then:
HV = (1 + log10(summedpoints* wins* wins / losts))/ 2
Wins = actual from the ranking (W/T/L)
Lost = actual from the ranking (W/T/L)
Tieds ( not won, but not the last) = actual from the ranking (W/T/L)
Reduction of the HISTORY VALUE against often beated Opponents:(special)
If you win often against the same player points will be reduced, dependenthow often a player was defeated. This is to prevent that 2 players or agroup of players push each other within the ladder and abuse the bonus.
But for some conditions it can be use exceptions for example for pbem players or forother small groups of players.
Reduction as following:1-3 Wins : No Reduction
4 or 5 Wins : 25% Point Reduction
6 or 7 Wins : 50% Point Reduction
8-10 Wins : 75% Reduction
> 10 Wins : 90% Point Reduction
Computing of the Base Value (Basis Points)
Basis Points are calculated as following:--> 1% of Starter-Bonus= 1000 Points mean 10 Points (1%)
Points that are achieved by the player are multiplicated with the wins andafter devided through losses and also a %-value is taken. Those TWO valuesare added.
Example:
Player A = 2500 Points | 25 Games played | 10 Wins
1000 Start-Bonus-Points = 10 Points (1%)
2500 - 1000 = 1500 Points achieved
--> 1500 * 10 = 15000 /(devided) 25 = 600 Points; 1& = 6 Points--> 10 + 6 = 16

Result: That makes 16 points as Basis Value.Basis Value depends on achieved Points in Ladder Games and Wins. The moreWins and Ladder Points achieved the higher the Basis Value is.
Point Relation Faktor
Only the last team or player will not win points.
How computed look StarterBonus/historyvalue and Base Value. But only the winner will hold all this points, all others players will be related, better position in game are worser related than not good position in game So the Relation is dependly from the players:
Example: FFA Game with 6 players

1. get 100% or 6/6
2. get 5/6 beaten from 1
3. get 4/6 beaten from 2
4. get 3/6 beaten from 3
5. get 2/6 beaten from 4
6. the last will always get 0 Points
Computing insert value
That are his insert points. The POINTS who can win the opponent. Newbees and players with HV of 0 will get only 5 Insert Points
Formulare: Insertpoints = HistoryValue * Basevalue
Computing of the Game Value
Gamevalue = summed Insert-Value from all players, see computing before.
Example
FFA Game with 3 players
Player 1 has 1200 ranking points , Player 2 1100 points, Player 3 1000 points
Player1 has a history value with 1.6 and a BaseValue of 12 = insert points = 12* 1.6 = 19,2
Player2 has only beat Newbees 0 HV and a Base Value of 11 = insert points 5
Player3 is a Newbee = 0 HV and a Base value of 10 = insert points 5

Gamevalue = 29.2 (19.2 +5+5)
Result: 1. Player2, 2. Player1, 3. Player3
Player2 has won the insertpoints from Player1 and 3 = 19.2 + 5 = 24.2 and has the starter BONUS * 2 = 48.4
Player1 has won the insertpoints from 3 = 5 but no more Starter Bonus = 5 * 2/3 = 3.3 Points
Player 3 has lost and is continue newbee with 1000 Points = 0

Will be credited in ranking
1. Player2 48.4
2. Player1 3.3
3. Player3 0
Tournament Bonus (special)
In a tournaments, point winners will get 50% points bonus additional to thewon points. In our example Player2 will get 24 Points, summed then too 72 points. (48+24)
This value can be adjusted
League Bonus (special)
In a league game point winners will get 100% point bonus. In our example player2 than winners gets 48 add. points, summed to 96 points. (48+48)
This value can be adjusted
Map Bonus(special)
When humans play on a huge or extra large map they get an EPIC BONUS whenthey manage to finish the game. All points winner will get a good bonus. But its dependly from the game and an optional setting. Check game forums for his rules.
AI Difficulty (special)
Hard ais can force the players to play longer and harder. Player must react when the AI plays agressive and makes pressure. So thegame conditions are much harder. All players will get only a small bonus for this harder conditions, because players play in ladder against humans not againstAIs.
Combat Bonus (special)
Varied settings in battle may result in different game characteristics. Agame can become more challenging or not. Within our ranking we consider if aplayer could get advantages/disadvantages by turning off/on the battlesystem and will be emphasized more or not. This is dependent from the gamesettings and wont play any important role in most of the games. Most gamesonly have one type of battle or will be handled realtime.
Further Rules / Exceptions
1) Guarantee for every beaten player = 5 points (can reduced through relation)
2) A loser can never win points.
3) If ranking are very activ, we will include an extra rank factor ( beating the best you will get a benefit) )
4) Ladder bonus / penalty depending on the game. Check the game forums for more infos
5) Quitter penaly -20 points
6) SUBPLAYER is a symbolic player, which stand for a human players. When the orginal player was banned in the meantime or he cant anymore play and someone other overtake
7) Top player penalty only when much players in ranking. One top player must beat another top player in 2 month or he will lost points. Top players who fight with the best cant get this penalty. But its only an optional rule, dependly who activ is ladder.
8) Playerys who are very activ get more points. Game-dependly. Check forums
9) TOP-5 player ( rank 1-5 )with a negative value ( more losses than wins) for at least 2 month lose 20% of their total points. Consult the relatedforums for further information.
POINTSYSTEM III (ELO-System)
Which ranks can be achieved ?
Beginners: just play
Veteran: > achieve easy more than 1000 points
Elite: Tourney winners and judged by the Council or achieving points
Master: League winners and judged by the Council or achieving points
Starting Conditions
A Player starts the ranking with 700 Points and is listed in the ranking when he has was better than ONE player. Players who has played ladder games, but have lost all yet will be listed, but unranked ! Players with less than 1000 points get doubled bonus. Start players get no minus points
Elo-number == rankingpoints
Every players gets an ELO value, when players have no points in ranking (because they havent played) they start with 700 points.
K-Number
This number will be multiplicated at last. A higher K-Number means you get more plus- or minus points from any played game. The K number is set as follows:

Less than 30 games: 25
Less than 2400 points: 25
Otherwise: 20
can set dependly from game !
Difference number
This is computed from your own Elo-number compared with the Elo-number of the person(s) you play against:

Example:
Player1 = 1800 Ranking Points. Player2 = 2400 Ranking Points
Difference1 for Player1 1800 - 2400 = -600
Difference2 for Player2 2400 - 188 = 600
Absolute Number
Equal difference Number, but negative values will changed than positive value
Result Nummer
This number represent your result in Game, 1 stands for a win, 0 for a loss
Formular:
when tied = 1 * (number of players Rank in Game) / (number of players - 1)
Win = 1
Loss = 0

Example:
Player 1 beat Players2, Player3
Player1 = 1 (win)
Player2 = 1 *(3-2) / (3 - 1)= 0,5 (tied)
Player3 = 0 (lost)
Computation of the Expectation(without K-Multiplication)
This is the calculated mathematical likelihood that you win any given game, and is calculated on the basis of professor Elos formula.
The expectation will always be a number between 0 and 1 (since its a probability), and of course higher ranked players playing against lower ranked players will have an expectation value above 0.5 and vice versa.

Formular:
Expectation number = 0,5 + 1,4217 x 0,001 x Difference number
- 2,4336 x 0,0000001 x Difference number x Abs Difference number
- 2,514 x 0,000000001 x Difference number x (Abs Difference number)*2
+ 1,9910 x 0,000000000001 x Difference number x (Abs Difference number)*3

Example:
Player1 = 0,5 + 1,4217 x 0,001 x (-600) ==> -0,35302
- 2,4336 x 0,0000001 x (-600) x (600) ==> -0,0876096
- 2,514 x 0,000000001 x (-600) x (600)*2 ==> -0,543024
+ 1,9910 x 0,000000000001 x -600 x (600)*3 ==> -0,2580336
=== 0,01958

Player2 = 0,5 + 1,4217 x 0,001 x (600) ==> 1,35302
- 2,4336 x 0,0000001 x (600) x (600) ==> 0,0876096
- 2,514 x 0,000000001 x (600) x (600)*2 ==> 0,543024
+ 1,9910 x 0,000000000001 x 600 x (600)*3 ==> 0,2580336
=== 0,98042
Change-value:
The Change is the amount of points actually lost or gained by the player because of the game reported.
The change is calculated as follows:

Formula:
Change = (Result - Expectation ) x K

It follows from this, that if you perform above your expectation, you will gain points, if you perform according to expectation, you will neither win nor lose, and if you perform below your expectation, you will lose points.

Example
Player1 = (1 - 0,01958) x 30 (under 2400) = 29,4126
Player2 = (0-0,98042) x 20 (normal) = -19,6084
Surpluses / subtraction to the Elo-value
After a game is played, any player who has performed better than expected from his current ranking will gain points, while players whove performed worse than expected from their current rankings will lose points. When in FFA, all possibilities 1on1 will be summed to a general change-value. When team this value will be related by the own players. The team won togehter, so they will divide their surpluses.

Example:
Change ->PlayerA PlayerB PlayerC
Player A 30 20 = 50 for Player A
Player B -30 15 = -15 for Player B
Player C -15 -20 = -35 for Player C

Result: That generate 50 rankingpoints for Player A. B and C will lost points(-15,-35).
Team Relation(special):
When one or more Teamplayers are involved in the result, the points will be related with following formulare:
Points * ((amount of players - teamplayers except himself ) - amount of players).

Example:
Change ->PlayerA PlayerB (Team1) PlayerC Player D (Team2)
Team1 = 50 points for Player A ==> 50 * ((4-1)/4) ==> 50 * 3 / 4 = 37,5
Team1 = 40 points for Player B ==> 40 * ((4-1)/4) ==> 40 * 3 /4 = 30
Team2 = -50 points for Player C ==> -50 * ((4-1)/4) ==> -50 * 3 / 4 = -37,5
Team2 = -40 points for Player D ==> -40 * ((4-1)/4) ==> -40 * 3 /4 = -30
Tournament Bonus(special)
In a tournaments, point winners will get 25% Points Bonus additional to the won points / minus points.
In our example Player2 will get more points
40 * 1.25 (125%) = 50 Points, that means 10 points more than regular.
Player 4 will lost points:
- 40 * 1.25 (125%) = - 50 Points, than means -10 less than regular.
League Bonus(special)
In a league game point winners will get 25% point bonus.
In our example Player2 will get more points
40 * 1.25 (125%) = 50 Points, that means 10 points more than regular.
Player 4 will lost points:
- 40 * 1.25 (125%) = - 50 Points, than means -10 less than regular.
Map Bonus(special)
When Humans play on a huge or extra large map they get an EPIC BONUS whenthey manage to finish the game. All points winner will get a good bonus. But its dependly from the Game and an optional setting. Check game forums for his rules.
AI Bonus(special)
Hard Ais can force the Players to play longer and harder. Player must react when the Ai plays agressive and makes pressure. So theGame-Conditions are much harder. All Players will get only a small bonus for this harder conditions, because players play in ladder against humans not against AIs.
Combat Bonus(special)
Varied settings in battle may result in different game characteristics. Agame can become more challenging or not. Within our ranking we consider if aplayer could get advantages/disadvantages by turning off/on the battlesystem. This depends on the game settings and wont play any important role in most ofthe games. Most games only have one type of battle or battles are done in real time.
[Further Rules / Exceptions]
1) Guarantee for every beaten Player == 2 Points
2) When players are in a high level, the point 1 rule is not more valid
3) A loser can never win Points.
4) Ladder Bonus / Penalty depending on the Game. Check the Games Forums for more Infos
5) Quitters get 20 minuspoints and are marked in the history.log
6) SUBPLAYER a substitute player (human) who takes over somebody elses place in the game because he has to leave or the like.
7) When player achieve a certain rank, he cant get below the rank-under-limit. (can set dependly from Game)
8) Players normally cant more achieve than 150 Points for one game (300 with double-bonus for starters).

Team Relation(special):
When one or more Teamplayers are involved in the result, the points will be related with following formulare:
Points * ((amount of players - teamplayers except himself ) - amount of players).

Example:
Change ->PlayerA PlayerB (Team1) PlayerC Player D (Team2)
Team1 = 50 points for Player A ==> 50 * ((4-1)/4) ==> 50 * 3 / 4 = 37,5
Team1 = 40 points for Player B ==> 40 * ((4-1)/4) ==> 40 * 3 /4 = 30
Team2 = -50 points for Player C ==> -50 * ((4-1)/4) ==> -50 * 3 / 4 = -37,5
Team2 = -40 points for Player D ==> -40 * ((4-1)/4) ==> -40 * 3 /4 = -30

This depends on the game settings and won’t play any important role in most ofthe games. Most games only have one type of battle or battles are done in real time.
